When do I need to arrive at Adventure Lights?
Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled check-in time (as stated on your ticket) to allow time for parking and check-in.
Is there car parking available?
Yes, free parking is available on-site, with parking stewards to assist. Yes, it's FREE parking!
What are the dates and times?
Adventure Lights runs from the 26 October to 02 February, with varying opening hours:
- 26 October to 13 December: 4.00pm - 8.00pm
- 07 and 08 December: 3.00pm - 8.00pm
- 14 December to 05 January: 3.00pm - 8.00pm (Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day)
- 09 January to 02 February: 4.00pm - 8.00pm
How much are the tickets?
Tickets are €20.00pp for adults and children aged 3-16 years. Children under 3 go free.
Do I need to bring a printed ticket?
No, you can simply show your QR code on your phone for scanning.
Is the event pram friendly?
Yes, the gravel trail is suitable for most prams although there are a few inclines. If you wish to enter Ireland’s Ancient East Maze, please be aware that it contains stairs so is not fully accessible to those who cannot negotiate them. There is a route through the maze that does not require the use of stairs.
Is the event wheelchair friendly?
The lights trail follows a 1km loop on gravel trail, much of the trail is flat. There is a 50m long upward incline of 13% and downward incline of 70m of 6% which some users may require assistance from their family or peers to navigate. If you wish to enter Ireland’s Ancient East Maze, please be aware that it contains stairs so is not fully accessible to those who cannot negotiate them. There is a route through the maze that does not require the use of stairs.
Is there accommodation on site?
Accommodation is available at Carlingford Adventure Centre Hostel in Carlingford Village. Special family rates start at €35 per person, per night. Contact [email protected] to check availability.
Is a carer free to accompany a person with additional needs?
Yes, one free carer is available per person with additional needs who cannot visit Adventure Lights unaided. A carer ticket cannot be combined with a free ticket for under 3yrs. Proof must be supplied on entry and will be checked. No additional needs tickets are available for Adventure Lights; please purchase an adult or child ticket as needed.

How long does it take?
The Adventure Lights experience typically takes 90 minutes. The trail is approximately 1km, with interactive elements and a food zone at the end.
Is the event suitable for everyone?
Adventure Lights is family-friendly and suitable for all ages.
Is the aerial adventure course open during Adventure Lights?
No, the aerial adventure course is not open. However, the Maze, Skynet, Aero ball, and inflatable slides are all open for the Adventure Lights event.
Is there on-site catering?
Yes, there will be catering offering hot food, snacks, and drinks. There is also a fire pit for toasting marshmallows and s'mores.
Are there staff on site?
Yes, Adventure Lights staff will be stationed along the trail to assist.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, guide dogs and family pets are welcome, but they must be kept on a lead at all times. Please clean up after your dog, and we have water bowls on-site for pets.
Is alcohol accepted?
No, alcohol is not permitted on-site.
Can we take pictures?
Absolutely! We encourage you to take photos and share them with the hashtag #AdventureLights.
Are drones permitted?
No, drones are not permitted.
What should I bring and wear?
Dress warmly for an Irish winter evening and wear sturdy footwear, as the trail is gravel. Don’t forget gloves and hats!
What if I can’t attend or need to cancel?
Tickets are non-refundable, but you can reschedule your booking by emailing [email protected] at least 96 hours before your scheduled time.
What happens in bad weather?
Adventure Lights is designed to be enjoyed in all weather. However, if an orange or red weather warning is issued for County Louth, you can reschedule your visit.
